Helambu - Green with Beauty

The Helambu region lies close to Kathmandu, bordering the Langtang valley to the north east. The Tibetan based Yolmo culture of this region has been strongly preserved, offering visitors a unique insight into this traditional lifestyle. Famous for their ornately decorated kitchens, visitors are housed intimately with the family sitting around the kitchen fire, as local food is prepared. With charming villages, wonderful panoramas, unspoiled forests and enchanted lifestyles of farmers as they work the fields with traditional handmade tools and pairs of water buffalo. The area is renowned for its picturesque grandeur and pleasing environment.
